WW EME DUBUS-REF Contest 2011 on 10GHz & up
The second day of the contest we heard first echoes on 10 GHz already at elevation of only 1.7°. When libration was about zero (spread less than tens of Hz) we worked at 12:38 OK2D M/O #58. OK2D with tropo rig (only 1.2m dish, 17W rf and H polarization !) became our smallest station worked on 3cm EME! We QSY to 24 GHz at the afternoon and worked Willi, LX1DB 559/559! Very easy and fast random QSO regardless Moon was only 2dB due to clouds. Close to the contest end on 10 GHz suddenly appeared W7CJO 579/579 with obvious great signal. In total completed 16 QSOs on 10GHz. F2CT and 9A5AA only CNR (nil/529) and we were hrd 539 by DF9QX. Measured noises G/CS 4,8 dB; Sun 18,2 dB (SF 120), Moon 2,7 dB (at its first quarter). Because observed Moon noise relates to Moon temperature, adding the Moon’s phase to each Moon noise ratio should become a good practice. The observed ratio will then be much more remarkable.

WW EME DUBUS-REF Contest 2011 on 10GHz & up
The first QSO was at 12:26 with F2TU only O/O. Found severe decrease in output power. Due to this failure and resulting repair missed VK3NX(hrd) and JA6CZD. we continue after repair with full power (over 35W in feed) and close the day with 14 QSOs and 3 new initials, F1PYR, PA0EHG and IZ2DJP.

back on 24 GHz | |
Tonda and Vlada make the first tests of new 24 GHz transvertor and SSPA on 24 GHz today. Just one QSO with Al W5LUA. Several photos of our new system is in 24 GHz photo gallery. There is also pdf file with 24 GHz signal spreading. OK1KIR_24GHz_09.03.2011_echoes_spread on Spectran.pdf

Tonda was QRV on 432 to try C56EME last night. He was not able to decode them but he made 9 JT65 QSOs and one on CW. On CW it is Ned LZ1DX as new CW initial and DXCC, on JT65 three new initials S51ZO, NC1I and TI2AEB as new DXCC as well.

FK/DL2NUD on 23 cm | |
Tonda were active on 23 cm. He was trying to QSO Herman FK/DL2NUD. He copied on JT65B UA3PTW -17 dB, OK2DL -10 dB and FK/DL2NUD -26 to -28 dB between 08:30 and 09:00 UT. Later on from 09:31 UT on JT65C OK2DL -7 dB and FK/DL2NUD -27 dB. Hermann was all the time -20° from horizontal polarization, but we haven't succeeded.

Not translated: EME Vánoce
Our families were supportive (at least in part - HiHi) and we could leave festal board for our EME QTH in the late evening. The reason was Bodo in Philippines on 1296 MHz. Tonda installed feed to the focal point in about -5 deg. and we have our echos. Immediately when we tune to .090 we see Bodo's signal and decode him -22dB. We didn't spend there more than one hour, so we only saw 5 more JT signals calling Bodo. Nice Christmas gift, new DXCC, initial and field on JT 1296 MHz.

Tonda and Vlada were QRV on 13 and 9 cm because Luis CT1DMK announced that he is QRV on 13 cm and Lars SM4DHN on 9 cm. They succeeded in both cases. The first QSO today was with S59DCD, radio club from Slovenj Gradec on 9 cm, then with Lars SM4DHN as new initial and DXCC on 9 cm. We also heard Viljo ES5PC. Later on when we QSY to 13 we made QSO with Peter G3LTF and contacted Luis CT1DMK as the first CT-OK QSO, new DXCC and field on 13 cm. The first QSO was SSB and then CW.

Still on 23 cm on Sunday, three CW QSOs, John PA7JB and Mikhail RA3AUB as CW initials and 4 JT QSOs. The only initial on JT was Al W5LUA. It was very nice EME weekend, all works well and we don't have to repair anything! Let's continue this way.

Tonda and Vlada continue on 23 cm. They made 5 CW QSO - Petr OK2ULQ as initial and 9 JT QSOs including the first OY-OK QSO on 23 cm with Jan OY3JE. Other intials were Lawrence W7IUV, Juan LU8ENU, Alexander UY2QQ and again Bodo BV2A, today from PL04.

ARRL EME contest weekend
We were QRV on 432 MHz on Saturday. Only few QSOs, ES6RQ as new JT initial. For the second orbit we selected 1296 MHz, 6 JT QSOs were finish before midnight. Initials was SM0ERR.

432 MHz test | |
Almost the very same story as few day ago, Rolf had strong wind and could hear him with very deep QSB, but we were not successful.Only one 432 MHz initial QSO with K7QX.

Tonda and Vlada waited for Rolf CE/DK2ZF, we heard him only for a while, then two new 432 MHz initilas, K2UYH and UT6UG.

Some problem with notebook setting doesn't allow us finish QSO with CE/DK2ZF on 432 MHz. Rolf decoded us -20 dB. Tonda could see nice signal on waterfall, but no decode. Later on Tonda finish four new 432 MHz JT initials, PA3DZL, WA4NJP, K4EME and W7MEM.
